About Dr Jeanine Graves
Dr. Jeanine Graves comes from a family of optometrists, including her father, J. W. Graves, O.D., as well as Gerald Graves, O.D., and Lauren Graves, O.D. Dr. Jeanine Graves grew up in the small town of Brawley, California, and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, where she focused on studies in cell biology and biochemistry. She went on to graduate with a Doctor of Optometry from the State University of New York’s College of Optometry, where she later served as an Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Graves currently holds a staff position at Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, New Jersey, after devoting two decades to private and group practice in several major New Jersey and New York communities.
Dr. Jeanine Graves possesses special skill in working with hard-to-fit toric monovision and bifocal contact lenses. Over the years, much of her practice has centered on assisting patients diagnosed with glaucoma and with serious autoimmune conditions, such as fibromyalgia, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. She has also served specific populations, such as United States military veterans when she performed her residency at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Campus of the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Montrose, New York.
Dr. Jeanine Graves joined Bergen Regional’s staff in January 2012, making her part of one of New Jersey’s largest hospitals and largest nursing homes. The optometry unit is one of the dozens of specialty outpatient clinics at the facility, which also provides lab work and fills patient prescriptions. Dr. Graves and her colleagues serve not only Bergen County, but neighboring populations as well.
Dr. Graves speaks excellent Spanish, and is pleased to be able to provide patient services to her local Latino community.
